Toys for Tots 2011

Findlay Chapter #58 needs your help in supporting Toys for Tots.
Please donate a new unwrapped toy in the drop off boxes located at the Findlay Masonic Complex. All toys collected will remain in Hancock County and be distributed as Christmas gifts for the needy children in our community. Let's fill these boxes for a great cause and provide less fortunate children the opportunity to experience the joy of Christmas. Pictured: Roger R. Neff, Marine Corp Reserve, Toys for Tots & Ron Drebert, Excellent High Priest, Findlay Chapter #58.

Roger Neff will be our guest speaker on Tuesday December 6Th at the complex, with a presentation on the history of Toys for Tots and the U.S. Marine Corps. All companions, family members and friends are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to contribute and join with us in a carry in dinner beginning at 6:15PM. Our goal is 100 new toys in 2011. Our Chapter meeting will then follow the presentation beginning at 7:30PM.

Jim Perry Legends Golf Classic

1967 Cy Young award winner Mike McCormick of the San Francisco Giants teamed with EHP Ron Drebert this year at the Legends Golf Classic in Springfield Ohio benefiting the Ohio Masonic Home, Benevolent Endowment Foundation. 1967 was the first year where separate Cy Young Awards were presented to the best pitchers in the American and National Leagues.

The outing provided an outstanding venue for golf with plentiful opportunities to meet personally with many of the legends of the sporting world and associated fields. When facing a "pressure" shot, as quoted by Ron, Mike responded, "that's not pressure, pressure is facing Hank Aaron in front of about 50,000 people with another 1 to 2 million watching on TV." Just as a note, Hank Aaron hit his 500Th home run against Mike McCormick, thus the reason for Mike's story.

Presented by the Benevolent Endowment Foundation of The Ohio Masonic Home, the Jim Perry Legends Golf Classics are unique annual events where golf, camaraderie, food, and fun combine for an unforgettable experience. All while helping support one of the state's oldest charities and, in turn, helping others in need. Contact Ken Marsenburg or visit jimperrylegends.com for more information to participate in the events next year.

A Royal Arch do you know quiz?
In the opening, what do the colors purple and white denote?
Attendance at our next meeting will provide you the answers.

8th District Royal Arch Association Golf Outing

The 8th District Royal Arch Association Golf Outing was held on Sunday June 26, 2011 at Oak Harbor Country Club with a scramble format.

Findlay companions gave it their best, fielding two teams with guests. Although neither was the best on the course, each was the best dressed with sponsorship shirts provided by Ron Drebert. Another great event was organized by Wayne Dill with a fine meal and prizes for all at the end of the day.

All proceeds support the Royal Arch Foundation and Adopt America Network.
